Winemaking

Crushed gently and dropped by gravity into 1.5 ton bins, cold soaked 72 hours, then inoculated with a variety of yeasts, hand punched and pressed directly to barrel where the wine finished both primary and secondary fermentations.

Vintage

Similar to the 2007 vintage, hot temperatures in late spring and early summer were offset by cooler night temperatures all summer, and coolder day and night temperatures closer to maturity, which helped maintain high natural acidity levels, created balanced flavors and allowed for extended hang times.

Tasting Notes

Elegant with spiced cherry, plum and caramel fusing delightfully with a hint of mocha, blackberry, black cherry and vanilla.  Rich, velvety tannins give it a lush, round finish.
