Analysis

  • pH-3.49
  • Total Acidity-0.62
  • Alcohol-13.92

Cooperage

33% new French oak with the remaining 67% older French oak.  Select barrels from the best forests of Boutes, Vicard, Demptos and Radoux coopers.

Winemaking

Crushed gently and dropped by gravity into 1.5 ton bins, cold soaked 72 hours, then inoculated with a variety of yeasts, hand punched and pressed directly to barrel where the wine finished both primary and secondary fermentations.

Vintage

Candy Mountain Vineyard had very dry growing and ripening conditions leading to complete control for the viticulturist and winemaker to manage the grapes for intense flavors that are balanced and smooth.

Vineyard

Candy Mountain Vineyard is located in the Columbia Valley Appellation on a south facing slope west of Pasco, Washington where I-82 and US-12 converge near Red Mountain.

Tasting Notes

Lots of ripe strawberry jam and bright red cherry acidity with hints of rose petals, juicy raspberry coulis and velvety tannins for an intense initiation with a lengthy finish.

2006 Sagemoor Vineyard Reserve: Wine & Spirits

This blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc is generous in attack, its dark and sweet black cherry flavors marked by mineral, mouthcoating tannins. A fine accompaniment to a grilled New York strip steak.
