Named for the restored WWII fire station in which the winery is housed, this wine is a complex creation reflecting winemaker Ron Coleman's skill and taste. It blends almost equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot with a bit of Cabernet Franc, purchased from 15 different vineyards and aged in new (40 percent) and used oak barrels from the United States, France and Hungary.

2004 Syrah: Wine & Spirits, February 2008

This wine is really all about chocolate, especially when first opened. A ripe black raspberry-jam scent emerges from underneath, with candied plum flavors giving buyancy to that cocoa'd base. With time this wine becomes more ample and fresh, both juicy and mouthfilling. A syrah for barbecued ribs.
