Martin Ibarra is the Cellar Manager of Tamarack Cellars.  Martin helps Dan Gordon, the Assistant Winemaker, with the daily hands-on wine work and maintaining the winery grounds.

Martin was born in Puruandiro, Michuacan, Mexico and first came to the United States in 1986.  He began work in the many agricultural opportunities of Milton-Freewater, Oregon where he still lives today with his wife Juana, daughter Alejandra and son Enrique.  From years of vineyard work, Martin has a solid background in vineyard pruning and care.  He started full time with Tamarack Cellars in May of 2002 working in the winery.  Martin proved himself to be a very quick learner and to have a great focus for attention to detail which quickly made him a valuable part of Tamarack Cellars winemaking team.  On occasion, Martin gets to go and work at some of the vineyards that Tamarack Cellars purchases it grapes from.  This gives the winery someone who is in the vineyard looking at vine health and care.

Martin has greatly expanded his knowledge of wine in the short time he has been with Tamarack Cellars and is constantly learning all he can about the wine industry. He is truly one of the cornerstones of the winery, lending infinite amounts of hard work and a great sense of humor to the crew.
